Auditions

Choir auditions are typically held twice a year: at the beginning of each semester (Fall and Spring).

The University of Florida choirs are open to all UF students. An audition is required for participation in Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Choral Union. Vocal technique is the primary factor considered during the audition process.

Singers are strongly encouraged to have a prepared piece to sing. Audition pieces of any musical style are permitted. Please note that an accompanist may not be available for all audition times. A recorded accompaniment, played from your phone or another device, is permitted.

Audition sequence:

• Complete the Singer Information Form prior to your audition day (link will be emailed to you)
• Arrive several minutes early, prior to your audition time
• Brief interview about your musical experience
• Sing your prepared piece, (If you do not have a prepared piece, you can sing "Amazing Grace")
• Vocalize through your range
• Sight-sing a short exercise
